Gustavus Swim & Dive

Gustavus Swim & Dive is one of the most successful D3 programs in the midwest. The team is known for being large, silly, and having some extreme school spirit!

Let’s Dive IN

While acting in accordance with NCAA and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recruitment standards and rules, the coaching staff and I came up with two objectives for this season.

  1. Grow the audience of recruits, fans, and alumni.

  2. Establish national presence within the D3 swim community.

So, we made more video content that capture shared experiences amongst swimmers and divers around the world.

We saved the picture carousels for updates made to the fan base. For instance: meet days, results, records, and commitments to the team.

Which led to…

Going Viral

Purpose

The Gustavus Swim & Dive community lost a teammate in 2013. The team now acts as an advocacy group for cancer awareness and dedicates a whole week of the season to Grace and others who have lost their battle to cancer. The team celebrates life and community through 'leaving it all in the pool.' It was imperative I captured this unique week/night to share with the Gustavus community and recruitment class.

Facebook Reach

Ingrid truly has a grasp on what is trending and how to get your product or message out there. She increased our following and interactions on social media accounts, which helped me interact with more recruits. The content she put out was attractive, not only to our potential student athletes, but to our parents, current athletes, fans, athletics staff, and anyone else looking at our content. I heard from multiple other sources and programs, “I wish we had an Ingrid”!
— Luke Weyandt, Recruiting Coordinator
Ingrid has been a HUGE game changer for us with social media!! We have over 1000 new followers, and literally well over a million visits to our social media sites. Her production value is top notch. I was just at the NCAA Championships, and 2 swimmers from a college in Massachusetts came up and said that we were their favorite team and they don’t even know anyone on our team! All from social media.
— Jon Carlson, Head Coach
